We think it was very clear, not only in several recent blog posts, and emails, which they never responded to, that we are willing to accept their "coupons" for Knox Co. residents. 

We would like to link to their promotional post,
but they've obviously taken it down. 

They have, however, re-posted their claims regarding their
"instuctors" having "over 100 years of experience." Still, their
post regarding the same staff having "over 107 years of experience" is still MIA.

Could they have realized that they wouldn't get the reaction or participation they hoped for? Or was it just another ill conceived gimmick? They're known for their gimmicks and stunts.

There has been much talk by our competitors 

recently about their "coupons." 

We have asked "how one goes about getting

one," but haven't been given an actual answer.

They keep promoting a reduction in class fees,

and, even free classes, yet there has been no 

actual evidence of these "coupons" existing.

We've even offered free courses for those

possessing these "coupons," yet, not a single

person has presented one. Or has made

claims of even ever seeing one. 

We have also made it clear that we were

willing to hand out their "free" course coupons

for the selected demographic, yet none of those

have materialized either.

Do they exist? 

Are these coupons actually "Bigfoot?" 

If so that would explain the lack of evidence.

We do. 


Take for example an excerpt from a recent post

What the OP Clerk doesn't know is that since his fortunate departure we added many new instructors. 

Besides our employees, we have 3 new certified instructors.

Our instructors have decades of experience in firearms training both in and out of law enforcement, the FBI and the Military.  One of our new instructors is a NRA Counselor (those are the guys who teach the teachers).

Another of our new instructors is a martial arts expert with Black Belts in Tae Kwon Do and Jaga Do (combat knife fighting) who has trained extensively in Chinese Kenpo and Wing Chung Kungfu .  He is recognized as Head Instructor by no less than three styles of Karate.  He is also a FBI and US Department of Homeland Security trained firearms instructor in rifles, shotguns and pistols (can you see where we are headed with our self defense classes?)

Yet, more recently there have 

been contridicting posts from the same source,

and we have to wonder, what the heck are they thinking? 

They have claimed in several recent posts that their "training staff" has "over 100 years experience" in one post and "over 107 years of experience" in another.  

We would like to link to these claims, but the blogger

has removed them from their blog.

Who exactly is doing their training? 

What are their credentials? 

That's our point. They've made the claim that their instructors  "have decades of experience in firearms training both in and out of law enforcement, the FBI and the Military." Knowing this, you might want to also know they've made this claim -  The fact is that after a lifetime as a police officer it is hard to see the world through a civilian eyes. The former officer often fails to understand that you probably don't want and certainly don't need need police training.Instead you need instruction for civilians and you need practice -- practice that is as close to the real thing as possible....  

I guess they can't make up their mind. 

And they still fail to post their instructor roster. Who they are? Why they're so good. And what you can expect to learn from their instruction?

We've posted our instructor roster, we have nothing to hide. That's our point. If you're making claims, and later removing or editing them, can you be trusted to be telling the truth? Or are you just making claims and hoping people will buy them sight unseen?

What Is This "TN HCP" Course You Speak Of?

This is the class you need to pass to apply for a State of Tennessee Handgun Carry Permit.  This course prepares students for the state written and range tests.

This course covers:

• Federal and TN Laws relating to handgun carry
  When the use of Deadly Force is Justified
  Criminal and Civil Liabilities
  Permit Qualification and Application Procedure
  Firearm Safety and Maintenance
  Handgun and Ammunition Knowledge

As CCA is now helping us publicize Frontier Firearms’ new program,  may we assume that you’re boss has accepted my offer and is willing to help us hand out coupons for free TN Handgun Permit Classes for Knox County residents at his Knoxville store?   If so we are grateful.  

To be honest I was unsure how to reach CCA’s Knox county customers about our coupons for a FREE permit class.   Thus, you can imagine my delight when I saw that CCA is giving us a “leg up” by posting our program on the CCA blogs which are surely read mostly by CCA customers and or potential customers.  

On top of that having our coupons passed out right inside CCA’s store will beat the heck out of standing on the road side passing them out as people pull into CCA’s parking lot! LOL!   Seriously, if there is anything we can do to return the favors let me know. 

Trevor, since he appears predisposed to helping Frontier, I was wondering…  since Jonathon is held in such high esteem by other gun shop owners, do you think he would mind calling a few of the local shops in the Knoxville area on our behalf to ask them if they would distribute our coupons too.  I am sure you see the good sense in this.  After all the faster we get our program going the sooner CCA won’t have to waste valuable time with permit classes.  Based on what you told us when you worked at Frontier, the handgun classes are a big pain for CCA customers because they knock members and walk-in shooters off the range (too bad CCA doesn’t have two ranges in one building like we do).  

Also, the faster the handgun permit people are gone, the sooner CCA’s other shooters won’t need to contend with that old ventilation system overloading and choking people out each time three or four shooters fire at once.  (LMAO! a thought just hit me - it seems we are already doing CCA not one but TWO big favors – freeing up range time for your members AND helping make your range safer. LOL! Imagine that)

Anyway, how many of our coupons for our FREE CLASSES do you feel Jonathan will want to pass out at CCA Knoxville?  I was thinking maybe starting with 500 and I could bring more when those are gone.  Just let me know and I will personally drop them off along with some Claxton Fruit Cake and eggnog (yes, it’s that time of year and based the things you told us about Jonathan he really like the likes the Fruit cake).

Also, I am still waiting your thoughts on the Class III issue.  Last year you were adamant that it wouldn’t take much for Frontier to outperform CCA in this area.  I guess I should have listened, but as I said earlier I have always been reluctant to intentionally go after a market niche where another man had staked out a claim, but times change and sometimes one is forced by others into taking distasteful action….

Trevor,

As you seem never to be busy, would you mind asking Jonathan if he would hand out our coupons (see below) at CCA.   We have already enlisted several Knoxville area gun shops to hand them out as “spiffs” to their customers, so I thought he might like to do the same - you know use the coupons as a kind of bonus for his Knoxville store customers.    

Anyway as it stands now by the end of the month most every gun shop in Knox County and the surrounding area with a good supply of these coupons.   Honestly, I have been more than a bit surprised how receptive the shop owners are to handing them out for us.  Once the program gets rolling it won’t be long before everyone in Knox County knows not to pay for their handgun permit classes.  

Also, tell Jonathan not to worry should he be concerned that we will fill our classes up with non-paying students.  Our classroom is certified by the Fire Marshal for 35 seats and limiting the number of freebies in each class to ten we will still have plenty of room for paying students.  Moreover, as you know as we have two ranges the classes don’t interfere with members and walk-in shooters.

It’s funny but until CCA began offering free classes in our market area I would have never dreamed of doing such a thing.  But I think in the end it will really help Frontier because it should bring a lot of Knox County residents to us that might otherwise have gone to CCA.  

One thing that bothers me though – as no one has ever done free classes for Knox County residents I fear that our doing so may really limit CCA’s ability to sell permit classes.  Here in Roane County the RCSO has done free classes for years and it hasn’t hurt us.  However, I would hate to find out when all the gun shops in Knox County and surrounding areas start handing out our free coupons that it cuts into the number of permit classes sold at CCA Knoxville.  

Trevor, you know that I have never operated my business in order to hurt others but it seems my hand has been forced (as an aside we trying to decide whether or not to apply for our Class III – as I told you before when you tried to talk me into going Class III that I didn’t want to “break  another man’s rice bowl” i.e. mess with another man’s livelihood intentionally but it seems the situation has changed now and I must alter my thinking on such matters – what do you think?).

Anyway, let me know what your boss says – whether he wants me to drop some coupons off or not.  Let me know ASAP as I sending the art printers on Monday (figure we will start off with 2,500 coupons but will get more if he decides to hand them in his store).
